This is a funny book The kids love the excuses that all the animals give for not going to Peep s party, and they also love looking at the endpapers illustrations to compare the beginning and end of the book.

Why kids will love it Reading about Peep s antics will bring many laughs And seeing the friendship bloom between Wooby and Peep will show kids how much fun it can be to be friends with others, even those who might be a little different than you. What I learned as a writer Having fun, original characters is so important in picture books And giving them names that are unique, but match with the other characters is also important I loved the dialogue between the characters, which shows that for some [...]

I feel so bad for Peep He s new to the neighborhood and just wants to make friends with his awesome party But the other animals are snooty and judgmental All except for Wooby, who reluctantly comes to the party Peep unsuccessfully tried to wow Wooby, but eventually they become friends through their shared love of Go Fish Who doesn t like Go Fish, right Cute pictures, sweet story, terrible neighbors.

Wow Wooby and Peep have a lot to overcome before building a friendship I love that kids can read to see that Peep was innocently making mistakes and not trying to be hurtful although the damage was great Great example of forgiveness in friendship Close Read Would you forgive Peep What makes this friendship so unlikely

I would not have liked to live in this story That being said, it is an interesting story about two neighbors who end up becoming friends despite very different personalities I liked the premise, but I felt the execution was a tad weak.
