DeShell employs a brilliant, product name dropping prose in this book that s like no one else has ever written In all of DeShell s work, the sound of sentences and the demand for the new have been central here, I think, his best is on display though I haven t yet read the new one, The Trouble with Being Born DeShell is a writer who should have attention paid to his work, which is never lazy, always moving to new places.

I love it when experimental writers can do their thing and still include pathos and a visceral sense of place.
