I kind of liked it because it s set in Wisconsin and I was familiar with the places, type of people, etc But I found mistakes in time sequences that kind of bothered me and probably should have been caught and corrected during editing like when they asked the girls what they had been doing the night before when their foster mother was shot They said they had been doing their school work to get ready for the beginning of the week had watched Masterpiece Theater Well, the day she was shot was Than [...]

It s Thanksgiving, but that doesn t stop murder from coming to town I like the characters in the book and the mystery is complicated enough to keep my interest I do have two problems though One is the shifting point of view at the beginning of the book makes it difficult to get into the story than it should The second is that the murders and other crimes are a bit too conveniently connected Still, I like Doc, Lew, and Ray, so it s worth reading.

Ms Houston came to do an author chat in my hometown library She was very nice, fun, and answered questionseven the obnoxious guy in the second rown who told her that, while her first books were sort of rough, he could tell she d improved a lot Note to self laugh and say thank you, even while turning red.I forgot that I had already read this one, but I probably would have purchased it anyway.

This series has such wonderful characters and place sense I don t understand why folks don t read it I neither fly fish nor know Wisconsin, yet I feel comfortable in her world Well, except for the murders On the other hand, a fisherman acquaintance of mine says that she has gotten it just right.

A murder mystery set in Loon Lake, Wisconsin Although 9 in the series this is the first one I ve read It is a very quick read with enjoyable characters, action and snappy dialogue After all the heavy novels, I was so ready for something light and this fit the bill.

While this is my introduction to this author, I discovered this is the ninth book in a series about Loon Lake in Wisconsin I liked the maturity of the characters, the twists of the plot and the author s appreciation of a part of the country I know little about.
