Received an online copy of this via NetGalley in exchange for a review.Although, as with all short story collections, the quality varied among stories, on the whole I found this collection to be a really engaging and fantastic read I enjoyed stories than not, and some of them were absolutely fantastic and made me want to read a whole book by the author I also think that this collection is really cool because even within the realm of LGBTQ fiction, trans characters are rarely given the spotlight [...]

Although Brave Boy World A Transman Anthology is billed as a collection of tales that explore what it means to be a man, even when one was born female, I think that does it a disservice This is really an anthology about gender, both male and female, with some valuable insights into both branches of the transgender experience Michael Takeda has really done a fantastic job of gathering such a deep, diverse collection.According to His Substance by K.C Ball was a great opener, a story about suicide, [...]

This is a nice collection of short stories, most of them featuring trans men as main characters If you like Sci Fi and stories with trans MCs this is a great analogy to check out Quite a few of the stories are ownvoices, but not all All of the stories are set before a Sci Fi background with a lot of variety There are some really good short stories and others that weren t as good, as is the case with every anthology If you want to read my full review Read on This could be a bit spoiler y though I [...]

I enjoyed this than I enjoy most short story compilations, and a BIG jump than I usually enjoy queer and trans anthologies I often find that they re not tightly limited via theme enough, and the quality varies wildly Because this was all spec fic sci fi future stories, it felt a lot vibrant and immersive The cover was gorgeous, also Specifics below While there was no story I didn t finish, there were definitely ones I enjoyed a lot It s really hard to pick a favorite, but the story that insp [...]

A great anthology and great look into the trans experience Some stories, of course, are boring, and others are downright thrilling The best of the bunch is Deadhead Chemistry by J Daniel Stone, which is an experimental piece about the fear of never transitioning at all It shows the real world pains of trans people always being misgendered, even doing it to themselves due to self loathing A very true story, in my opinion It s also partly an experimental piece, and the prose sucks you right in Com [...]

I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest reviewThis was a very interesting anthology I was kind of worried when I realized that all the stories were sci fi somehow I thought it was a sci fi fantasy anthology and I always gravitate towards the fantasy side of things but using exclusively sci fi settings as a backdrop to tell trans stories is actually a really good idea because you have so many options This anthology had such a wide range of stories There were [...]

This amazing collection of short stories delved into the depths of imagination with sci fi fantasy, while deconstructing gender in an engaging manner, by centring the trans experience.
