I tend to avoid historical Wiccan mythic fantasy so this already had three counts against it, but I thought I would give it a go and try the genres once again. The world, magic systems and so on were great, I could really get into it, there was real sense of balance and structure in it, much like Lyndon Hardy s Master of the Five Magics but at the same time, there was also a sense of untamed and untamable ancient powers which don t fit neatly into our contemporary science filtered view of natural [...]

This book had so much potential.I was expecting a really good read, but I only got up to the 15th Chapter before it bore me out.The writing was really, really good, but it lacked that ability to hook the reader into reading and wanting to find out what happened Just like with how good a storyline is, if the writing is bad, no one is going to read it.Same goes for good writing, but not so good plotting.I felt like it didn t really go anywhere for a long time, and that I was stuck in an ever cycl [...]

My 3 star rating seems lukewarm but that s because I don t really like this genre no matter who s writing it This is really well written The fact that I even finished it is a tribute to her talent because I really don t enjoy fantasy And yet I felt compelled to give 3 stars because it really was good the story was compelling If you like the fantasy genre definitely give this trilogy a try because I think you ll love it I m sure if I actually liked fantasy I would have given this 5 stars.

I m a afraid I too felt weary and drained by all the mystery and rituals p.364 must be the Bluite in me Really, there was just too much mythology so much, all mixed up that I rapidly lost interest It s a pity because I did want to like this story set in the Blue Mountains by an Australian author, but I won t be reading the 2nd 3rd books.

This book was absolutely horrible The only thing that I liked about it was the description of the characters and the places It was really quite well describedmetimes way to well D It took me so long to read this book because the sex scenes were way to graphic and disgusting for me At one point there was at least one sex scene on every page Unless you like reading that kind of thing or you can ignore it easily then this book is definitely not for you

This trilogy was loaned to me by a friend Honestly, the writing, the plots, the characters, the twists, the horror, the gore it was all brilliant The fact it was set in the Blue Mountains in Australia was even better The trilogy could have done with a good, strong edit though But very, very imaginative and very dark.

ok, well I have forced myself to read the whole series and I can t say I enjoyed anything, apart from the occasional references to the Blue Mountains I guess that will teach me for buying a set I tried very hard to like some of the characters but they all seemed to be killed off t a good read for me.

It was not a bad read Slow in places but a fab world that has been created.

A wonderful, detailed, and ultimately sad story brilliantly told, however I am really looking forward to reading the second book in the trilogy.
