I understand that Melody Carlson, author of The Christmas Bus, has actually written many Christmas themed novels This was my first, however, and it was cute While this second novel played a bit obviously on Christmas story themes, such as the Mary Joseph story with a young expecting couple that have rolled into town in an old rickety bus, it was still a fun read In Christmas Valley, the little town there plays on every bit of Christmas that they can to draw tourism For the owners of The Shepher [...]

Melody Carlson has a knack for writing fun, lovable characters and she s done just that in The Christmas Bus.This tale is a Christian, traditional Christmas story with clear parallels to the birth of Jesus The story is somewhat predictable, but is mixed with just enough surprise that readers won t be bored.Charles is the pastor of the local church in Christmas Valley, an endearing town readers will want to visit Edith is his wife and they are a faithful, loving couple who love their church and t [...]

I am starting to get into the swing of my annual orgy of Christmas themed reading THE CHRISTMAS BUS is sweet, sappy and totally fluffy read which grabbed me from the first page and kept me engrossed until the Happily ever after at the end I knew how the story was going to go a few days before Christmas, no room at the Inn and a young couple with a baby due any tick of the clock but you know what It didn t matter it was still a lovely read with enough conflict to be resolved to keep the story fro [...]

This was a heartwarming and cute little Christmas story It was short, less than 200 pages long, so much of it was kind of simple and the characters were pretty one dimensional, but it got me into the Christmas spirit and gave me a warm feeling inside Since that was just what I was looking for, I really enjoyed it I m getting ready to start another Christmas story by Carlson Hopefully it will be just as sweet a story as this one was

During the Christmas season my mom reads a lot of Christmas themed books She just loves a good Christmas story Years ago she bought The Christmas Bus and thought of my paternal grandmother, who drove a school bus After passing it around the family, it s been sitting on my desk for a while waiting for me to get to it And I m glad I finally did it is such a cozy little read This is a quick read, but it s a great kick off to the holiday season With Thanksgiving tomorrow, Christmas is just around th [...]

Edith never expected what would happen when she decided to keep the Inn open during the Christmas holiday She thought having the Inn open would help diminish the loneliness she would feel as a result of her children be absent for the holiday Her husband Charles is the pastor of the only church in Christmas Valley, whose residents take Christmas seriously But as can happen the reason for the season sometimes gets lost in the shuffle.Myrtle arrival rocks Christmas Valley on its ear When Collin and [...]

This book is basically a modern update on the Christmas story Saying that the ending was super predicatable which I was okay with that, but the middle kept you guessing The characters were very well developed for there being so many characters Edith, the inn keeper was suh a sweet old lady who had a lot on her plate One of the main characters, Myrtle was such an eccentric woman I loved and hated her at times Amy which was Mary was such a good character also she was sweet, but yet she updated her [...]

A charming Christmas themed story It s a delightful holiday read, with a cozy small town feel There s barely any romance It stays right on track with a lot of festiveness, faith, and fun.I really connected well with the main plot of how this December is so different for Edith and Charles, not being with family like usual Instead they re booking up their inn, entertaining strangers for Christmas in a way, giving up something of themselves and they may just receive back some gifts they didn t expe [...]

This book takes place in the little town of Christmas Valley As the name suggests, everyone, but everyone, in the town lives for Christmas Even the Mayor plays Santa However, one year, things don t seem to go as well as they usually do There are a lot of strangers in town, including a couple expecting a baby any minute, complete with a 70 s style decorated bus A little bit predictable, but a sweet Christmas novella nonetheless.

Christmas Valley, the Shepherd s Inn, a colorful bus, a Christmas play and a sermon about about being Held together by love and Entertaining Angels Unaware put all together provided a wonderful Christmas Story with some interesting characters Reading this book makes you think about what Christmas is all about loving, sharing and helping one another Another annual book for me read every December

Loved the characters, some of them quite quirky, and the message of love and caring for others How often do we judge others because they re different from us How often do we express our opinions and assume they re the way everyone should feel While the story ending was very predictable, it was still a sweet tale and very appropriate for the Christmas season.
